| A few weeks back, I mailed some photos of the girls to my mom and grandma. I do this regularly so that both of them can keep track of the girls' growth and development.
Anyway, two weeks had gone by and my mom still hadn't received the photos. My grandmother had received her copies, just under a week after I mailed it. Initially, I thought I might had written her address wrongly. However, having lived in that apartment myself, I doubted I got the address wrong! So I thought maybe it was mailed via ground instead of air accidentally.
However, last week, mom gave me a call. She had received the photos finally. BUT, it's not after she wrote a big note and pasted it on the mail boxes downstairs. She wrote and I quoted, "if anyone had received photos of my grandaughters in their mailbox accidentally, please put it in box ### as the photos are very precious. Thank you." Anyway, she put that note in the morning, and that evening, someone had returned the photos back to her mailbox! Imagine that! However, she said the photos were wrapped in a piece of paper and NOT in the original envelope. She didn't even get the letter that was in it. Fortunately, I did not put in any money this time around!
Anyway, mom was wondering whether she should write a thank you note. To hell with it!! Firstly, no one should open mail that's clearly not theirs, even though the postman might had accidentally put it in their box. I usually would put it back to the correct box or return it to the postman! And another thing, why keep the photos for more than a week, if it's of no use to them? We just don't get it.
Mom was thankful for receiving the photos but for me, I'm less trusting. Next time, I will insured everything I mailed to her. Terrible, isn't it?
| Music Mania
The Grammys was on tonight! After much hoo-haa from the Superbowl half time show (Janet Jackson's boob expose), CBS telecasted it with a 5 minutes delay to ensure no risque or outrageous stunts. Duh! However, being a huge music fan myself, it was still superb. I never missed the Grammys because it brings all spectrums of music together, unlike the American Music Awards, which tend to be a bit "bubble gummish and poppish". Gosh, the last AMA was like a high school reunion with performances by Hilary Duff, Clay Aiken etc.
Anyway, the highlight for me were the performances by Outkast. Oh my, oh my!!! Outkast is my favourite group at the moment. Since listening to their last album, Stankonia, I was hooked! This RnB group combines both hip-hop, rap and funk. I was glad that they won several grammys. They are really that good. And oh, what about the White Stripes? Just superb. A 2 person band, stripped down to just the drums and guitar, and yet producing raw, beautiful music. I called them the garage band. The first time I saw them performed 2 years ago at the MTV Music awards, I was floored. Something about seeing a woman playing drums....so sexy! I am a fan.

Enough of the Grammys. I have been downloading music and burning CDs this past weekend...legally of course! We bought a new computer a week ago since our old one is quite antique! Anyway, this computer is really bling bling. It comes with a wireless mouse and keyboard and of course a flat screen monitor. Also, it is equipped with a CD and DVD burner. Not only that, I can even watch TV on it and record any TV programs on a DVD with this computer. Cool eh? It's the HP media center M300y model. We also bought an all-in-one HP psc 2175 printer. I'm having fun with this computer.
| Single Woes

I called Lina today. I had known her since our poly years and she is one of my closest friends, although she lives in Singapore. Anyway, Lina is 29 years old and she is still single. I like to call her and check up or like she calls it "spot check" on her love life! kekekeke.... She's a sweet Malay girl. Actually, very pretty in my opinion, petite and slim, smart, modern and yet, she couldn't find a guy! Even though she's a Malay girl, she understands Mandarin too, since she took that language in school. Not that she does not date, she does but according to her, guys ran out fast when they see her coming!
Not that she's picky...ok, just a tad. She just wants someone taller than her, which is obtainable since she's only 5 feet tall! And a good sense of humor, of course. And oh, someone who can speak good English. No slanging please. And no convicts!! The problem with Lina, I think, is that she has a degree and that she has a good job with TCS. Guys tend to be intimidated by a career woman or one that is educated, especially Malay guys! It is so hard to find an educated single Malay guy with a good job. Most of them are already taken when they were in college or university. The ones that are still single like their women submissive. *rolling my eyes* Oh geez! Thank god I met my husband or else, I will still be single now (not that I mind). I am blunt, I am a control freak, I am opinionated, I am a feminist and I can't stand chauvinistic men. Not only do Malay guys scram when they see me, they hide! I love Malay guys but hmmm..I don't think they like my loud mouth!
Anyway, not that Lina is desperate, she is contented with her life. Just that she wants someone to share it with. Poor girl. I told her to wait 10 more years and by then, at 40, she can take her pick from all the young 25 year old studs.
